Should we celebrate Christ's Birth ?

Luke 2: 1 - 14

"And it came to pass in those days, that

there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus,

that all the world should be taxed.

([And] this taxing was first made when

Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

And all went to be taxed, every one into

his own city.

And Joseph also went up from Galilee,

out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea,

unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

And so it was, that, while they were there,

the days were accomplished that she should

 be delivered.

And she brought forth her firstborn son,

and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and

laid him in a manger; because there was

no room for them in the inn.

And there were in the same country

shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch

over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came

upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone

round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them,

Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good

tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the

city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

  And this [shall be] a sign unto you;

Ye shall find the babe wrapped in

swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

  And suddenly there was with

the angel a multitude of the heavenly host

praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest,

and on earth peace, good will toward men."

Well, Our Heavenly Father and All the Angels

of Heaven celebrated it with a glorious display

and declaration of the joyful news that the

promised Saviour of the world had come !

We think it is very fitting that His Faithful

People here on earth should remind the

whole world of this glorious event

that happened 2000 years ago !

We do not know the exact time of His birth, but

we do know  more than most people realize !

The wonderful Prophecy of Daniel 9: 24 -27

is the key.

From this Scripture, we can ascertain the

time of year that Christ was born.  The text

says that from the "going forth of the decree

to restore and build Jerusalem, unto the

Messiah, The Prince, would be , seven weeks

and three score and two weeks".

We will look at the text in more detail another

time, but, that decree went forth in 457 B.C

The equation is "7 + 60 + 2 = 69 weeks". Which

time in a "day for a year" of prophetic time,

= 69 x 7 = 483 years.

483 - 457 = 26 years.  The decree was given

in the Autumn of 457 BC so it would take us to

the Autumn of 27 AD at which time Christ

was baptized by John in the Jordan River.

Luke 3:23  "And Jesus Himself began to be about

thirty years of age, ....."

This would  mean that Jesus was born in

3 or 4 B.C. in relation to our current time.

Also; Jesus was crucified in AD 31.  Backing

up in time would also indicate Jesus was

born about 3 B.C., at the beginning of the

70th week of Daniels prophecy of

Daniel 9: 24 - 27.

From these Bible records, we believe

Jesus was born in the Autumn in the

Seventh Month of the sacred year,

not on December 25 when His birth is

celebrated today.

December 25, which

is five days after the longest night and

shortest day, is when the days began

to be noticeably getting longer again.

The Pagan religions celebrate this day as

the rebirth of their pagan sun god, Tamuz !

Early in the history of the Catholic Church,

they began to celebrate this day to accommodate

the influx of unconverted pagans into the church

which already was in apostasy !  Rome has attempted

to change God's Sabbath from the Seventh Day

to the first day of the week and all the protestant

churches follow her in this worship on

"the day of the sun" !

The Catholic Church calls December 25,

"Christ-mas" !  What does that word actually

mean to the Catholic mind.  The word "Christ-mass"

is saying "Christ's - death", not "Christ's birth" !

It is their pagan sacrifice of the "victim" not

just on December 25, but millions of times every

day !  As some of you know and others may not

yet know that the Catholic Priest believes he

has the power to literally change the "wafer",

which they make from flour themselves, into

the body  of Jesus and the wine into the blood

of Jesus !  They believe the priest has the power

to command Christ to obey them at any time

to come and be sacrificed !

Well, I do pity those poor souls and I am so

thankful to be delivered from this evil and that

I was born to Protestant, Bible Believing Parents !

We have stopped using the pagan name and simply

thank God for sending His Son to save us

from sin !  We celebrate the birth of Jesus

at this time of year, not on December 25, but

we celebrate His birth because by doing so,

the whole world of heathen people hear the

Glorious Story of God's Love for all the world

through the birth, life, death and resurrection

of Our Mighty God & Saviour, Jesus Christ !

We celebrate it because we can sing the glorious

carols proclaiming the story of Bethlehem,

and the shepherds watching over their sheep,

and the Angel Choir singing, "Glory to God in

the Highest and on earth, peace and good will

toward men !  And for a whole month, the

heathen see and hear the story proclaimed

around the world !  Praise God !

Yes, let us celebrate the birth of Jesus

and let the whole world know that God

loves them also, that Jesus did die for

them also, that Jesus did rise from the

dead and lives again in Heaven and that

Jesus is coming soon in Great Glory

and power to take His people Home !

Amen & Amen

Love,

Rich & Joyce
